SCYC

Dear Fellow Members, Emeritus Members, and Supports of the SCYC,

I wanted today to let all of you know how excited I am to be starting my term as President of the SCYC. I am looking forward to working with all of you to continue to move the SCYC forward and to create more opportunities to help those in our community who are less fortunate and struggling to make ends meet.   I also want to take this opportunity to thank our Past President Michele Cumberland and the previous Board of Directors for all the hard work they put in over the past four years. Re-founding this charity was no easy task. The efforts of Michele and the previous board members are the reason this organization is once again helping to make Alexandria a great place to live. I am happy that Michele chose to stay on the Board of Directors as Treasurer/Secretary to help us continue to grow and prosper. People in our community are benefiting from our efforts, and our events create a fun atmosphere to raise funds to help those in need. I am also looking forward to working with the rest of the new board of directors to keep us growing and moving in the right direction.

The SCYC is, first and foremost, a charity established to help those in our community who are less fortunate and in need. This mission needs to continue to be the core focus of every decision we make as we move ahead. Together, we can continue to grow this organization and expand the number of people who benefit from our efforts. And at the same time, create new fundraising events for our community to participate in and enjoy. I look forward to hearing your ideas and suggestions as we move forward with our mission. I will also be picking your brains for ways to improve and grow the SCYC. I sincerely feel that we are off to a solid start. And that together, we can continue to grow and expand the SCYC in new and fun ways.
